Stories For Change: Empowering Women, Transforming Communities

From Homemaker To Entrepreneur

A group of five homemakers, fully dedicated to caring for their families and children, depended entirely on their husbands as the sole breadwinners. Struggling to make ends meet, they aspired to contribute financially but lacked opportunities and guidance.

With the help of MAC Trust, the women formed a Self-Help Group (SHG) and were encouraged to start saving small amounts regularly. After six months of consistent savings and support, they secured their first loan linkage of  50,000 from an Indian bank. Pooling their collective resources, they raised  2,50,000 and established a small garment unit

Today, each member earns an average of  7,000 per month. Their income supports their children’s education, covering school
fees and books, and has significantly improved their families’ quality of life. Beyond the financial gains, the journey has instilled a sense of self-esteem and confidence, transforming these women into role models for their community

inspiring story showcases how empowerment and collective effort can turn aspirations into reality, fostering sustainable livelihoods and a brighter future

Livestock Management: A path to Economic Growth

the guidance of MAC Trust, a group of women secured a  50,000 loan from an Indian bank to improve their livelihoods. Recognizing the long-term benefits, MAC Trust advised them to invest in livestock, a sustainable source of monthly income.

Following this advice, the women purchased livestock such as cows and goats, which began generating regular earnings through milk production and sales. The income not only allowed them to repay the loan comfortably over 15 months but also turned the livestock into valuable assets for their households.

Now, with a steady income stream and assets in hand, these women have achieved financial stability and are moving upward economically. This transformative journey underscores how strategic investments and proper guidance can uplift lives and build lasting prosperity.
