MAC promotes the economic empowerment of women and youth in the community
MAC's health initiatives include medical camps, rural clinic services for underserved populations, and health awareness programs. Their Rural Clinic Project has reached thousands of individuals by providing free medical services in hard-to-access areas, which encompass consultations, referrals, and follow-ups for major illnesses. Additionally, the MAC Trust focuses on eradicating malnutrition in children through their Pillai Amutha Kani 2.0 Nutri Kits. These nutritional supplements are distributed to children in Anganwadi centers, aiming to improve growth and reduce stunting and wasting among children.

Nourish to Flourish Program

The Malnutrition Elimination Program in Sulur Block aims to create a 0% malnourished environment. Through a comprehensive approach, children were assessed and categorized into severe, moderate,
and normal malnutrition levels. Door-to-door Nutri Kit distribution ensured consistent delivery of essential supplements, while nutrition awareness sessions and parenting classes empowered families with knowledge on balanced diets and childcare practices. Out of 164 children identified, 140 showed significant improvement, while 21 remained in the same state due to migration challenges. With periodic supplement distribution and continuous monitoring, the program is making strides toward building a healthier, malnutrition-free community
Malnutrition Elimination Program

Malnutrition Elimination Program in Sulur Block aimed to reduce malnutrition among children through targeted interventions. Over six months, we conducted monthly screenings to monitor the height and weight of severely undernourished children. Parents were actively involved, receiving regular updates and guidance on improving their children’s health. To support this, we developed a Nutrition Manual, Guide, and Flip Book, making it easier for families to understand and adopt diet diversity and balanced nutrition practices.
As a result, 80% of severely malnourished children improved to moderate or normal nutritional levels. The program also raised community
awareness about the importance of proper nutrition. Despite challenges like reaching remote areas and initial resistance from some families, consistent efforts brought significant changes. Moving forward, we plan to expand the program to more villages, include more workshops, and collaborate with local healthcare providers. This initiative has positively impacted children’s health and family practices, proving that collective efforts can create lasting change. We extend our gratitude to the team, volunteers, and supporters who made this success possible.

Story of Change: Restoring Vision Through Eye Care

During general health camp organized in partnership with the Eye Foundation, a significant number of participants were identified with eye-related issues, primarily cataracts. Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, MAC Trust collaborated with the Eye Foundation to organize a dedicated Eye Camp to provide comprehensive eye care services
In the mega camp, over 180 individuals were screened, and 30+ patients were diagnosed with cataracts, which had severely affected their vision and quality of life. Of these, 22 patients underwent successful cataract surgeries, restoring their vision and enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives once again.
This initiative not only brought hope to individuals suffering from vision impairment but also highlighted the importance of accessible eye care services in rural communities. Through this effort, MAC Trust demonstrated the power of collaboration and community-focused healthcare, ensuring that no one is left behind due to preventable health issues. The success of this camp inspires us to continue addressing the health needs of underserved populations.
